“Duo” is a memorial painting that I produced as a celebration of the life of Emily Collett who was tragically killed, along with her student, in a flying accident in August 2019.

Amongst many other things, Emily was a very talented and accomplished aerobatic and display pilot, she won the BAEA 2016 Advanced title and was an active member of the Great War display team. She loved flying and was very dedicated to sharing the experience with others.

I’ve placed Emily on a brightly lit summer afternoon in her beloved CAP 232 in formation with her husband Mike in their Extra 330LX. They never got to fly these two aircraft together for the camera so its fitting to produce it as a fine art composition.

This original oil painting, 70cm x 50cm was painted for Mike and any prints will be for him, the family and friends.
