The Red Arrows are, in my humble judgement, the finest military display team in the world and constantly “fly the flag” for the UK on the world stage. Its hard to imagine anyone with a background in aviation, or a general interest in flying, who has not enjoyed watching the team display and acknowledged the skill, discipline, training and organisational support that allows a 9 ship formation of BAe Hawk T Mk1’s to constantly entertain the appreciative public at major events.

This is the second painting of the Red Arrows that I’ve recently completed and in this painting I wanted the capture the whole team formation in a steeply banked flat turn back-lit by a late afternoon summer sun.
