Earth is the largest of the four rocky inner planets and orbits in the "Goldilocks Zone" between too hot and too cold. The sun's warmth is just right for earths bountiful supply of liquid water and, combined with a protective magnetic field and oxygen/nitrogen atmosphere, complex life forms like us have flourished.

The painting is set from low orbit at +15 degrees of longitude looking westward across europe and north africa. At the equator earth's circumference is 24,901.55 miles and we're all turning together at just over 1000 miles per hour.
