"November fight" depicts the 1st victory of Cecil Frederick King on November 12th 1917 near Annay. I've placed his Sopwith Camel B6210 in a tight rolling turn to bring King's guns to bear on an Albatross III.

Captain Cecil Frederick King is another of those extraordinary characters that research reveals in fighter squadron histories. He joined the RFC straight from Charterhouse school at 17 and was posted to 43 Squadron in France, in 13 months he shot down 22 aircraft (19 confirmed) and won a reputation as a combative pilot and ground attack expert. he was awarded the MC, DFC, Croix de Guerre before being transferred back to the UK as a fighting instructor.

He was killed in an air collision in Norfolk on January 24th 1919 one month before his 20th birthday.

Original oil on canvas, image size 40cm x 50cm. Signed by the artist. Frame included.
