The RAF had been equipped with Panavia Tornado's for over 30yrs and its been a hugely significant and successful aircraft. The Tornado first flew in August 1974 and entered RAF service during 1979-80 as the GR1.

142 of the RAF GR1's entered a midlife upgrade program during the late 1990's to emerge as the Tornado GR4 version which continued in service until February 2019 as an all weather day/night attack and reconnaissance platform.

"In all weathers" features a GR4 of 15 Squadron transiting a south-westerly cold front which is, as we all know, by no means un-common in the UK.
